MEDCAMP Health-a-Thon 2018
June 29 @ 12:00 pm - June 30 @ 10:00 am
This free event is being offered to students 18 years of age or older who have graduated high school, but have not yet graduated from their undergraduate institution. Applicants must reside in one of the following counties: Ashland, Ashtabula, Carroll, Columbiana, Crawford, Cuyahoga, Geauga, Holmes, Lake, Lorain, Mahoning, Medina, Portage, Richland, Stark, Summit, Trumbull, Tuscarawas or Wayne. The event will span about 24 hours, beginning Friday, June 29, 2018 at 12 p.m. and continue through to Saturday, June 30, 2018.
The idea for MEDCAMP Health-a-Thon is similar to the popular hack-a-thon model. Students will be given a problem to immerse themselves for a set amount of time to produce a product as a solution. Students will work in teams to form their solutions to the problems presented by health experts. At the end of the 24 hour timeframe, students will be able to present their solutions to a panel of judges for prizes. MEDCAMP Health-a-Thon will include meals, workshops and various group activities.
First consideration is given to applicants from groups underrepresented in the health care professions. Interested students may apply at www.neomed.edu/medcamp/apply.
